{"id":398123,"date":"2021-09-28T17:27:11","date_gmt":"2021-09-28T16:27:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=398123"},"modified":"2021-09-28T17:48:00","modified_gmt":"2021-09-28T16:48:00","slug":"supreme-court-judge-justice-oseji-is-dead","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=398123","title":{"rendered":"Supreme Court Judge, Justice Oseji Is Dead"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Justice Samuel Chukwudumebi Oseji, Supreme Court judge, is dead, SaharaReporters has learnt.<br \/>\n<span class=\"container container-pod container-pod-short\"><span class=\"adunit-parent hide block-module block-module-ad block-module-ad-300x250\"><span class=\"block-module-image-wrapper\"><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Oseji, who hails from Idumuje-Unor, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, died on Monday at the age of 67 years after a brief illness.<br \/>\n<span class=\"ds-1col file file-image file-image-jpeg view-mode-embedded centered clearfix block-story-object block-story-object-resource block-story-object-resource-image\"><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"block-story-object-asset\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"media-element file-embedded\" typeof=\"foaf:Image\" src=\"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/storage\/2021\/09\/Supreme-Court-Judge-Justice-Oseji-Is-Dead.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>As at the time of this report, details of the death of Oseji were still sketchy.<\/p>\n<p>He was reported to have died in Abuja after a protracted illness, details of which could not be immediately ascertained.<\/p>\n<p>An official of the court said the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Tanko Muhammad, had to visit him at an unnamed hospital about two weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>His death brings the number of Justices of the Supreme Court to 17.<\/p>\n<p>Oseji worked as a magistrate and rose through the ranks to become Chief Magistrate Grade I. He was appointed Deputy Chief Registrar in 1996.
