{"id":396979,"date":"2021-09-24T21:17:30","date_gmt":"2021-09-24T20:17:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=396979"},"modified":"2021-09-24T21:17:58","modified_gmt":"2021-09-24T20:17:58","slug":"epl-why-timo-werner-cancelled-contract-with-bayern-munich","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=396979","title":{"rendered":"EPL: Why Timo Werner cancelled contract with Bayern Munich"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Timo Werner signed a pre-contract agreement with Bayern Munich in 2019, but cancelled the deal after he found out the club\u2019s senior officials did not want him, Goal reports.<\/p>\n<p>Werner, who was with RB Leipzig at the time, was on a contract that expired in 2020, and was eyeing a move away as a free agent.<\/p>\n<p>But the German forward found out that then-Bayern manager Niko Kovac and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic were not keen on him.<\/p>\n<p>Werner then asked his agent, Karl-Heinz Forster, to cancel the deal.<\/p>\n<p>It is also claimed Werner was in talks with Liverpool over a transfer in February 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Liverpool offered the player who is now at Chelsea a salary of \u20ac12million per year and a further \u20ac25m in bonuses.<\/p>\n<p>But Forster instead pushed his client to join Bayern and set up a deal, before Werner learned of the Bavarians\u2019 indifference.
