{"id":393326,"date":"2021-09-12T23:09:19","date_gmt":"2021-09-12T22:09:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=393326"},"modified":"2021-09-12T23:48:40","modified_gmt":"2021-09-12T22:48:40","slug":"monsurat-ojuade-lagos-police-conceal-killer-cops-identity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=393326","title":{"rendered":"Monsurat Ojuade: Lagos Police conceal killer cop&#8217;s identity"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">The Lagos State Police Command is in the news again over the death of Monsurat Ojuade.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, Monsurat was hit by a bullet when detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, went to arrest a robbery suspect in Ijesha.<\/p>\n<p>The 18-year-old died within a short period throwing the entire neighbourhood into mourning.<\/p>\n<p>A statement Sunday night by Adekunle Ajisebutu, Police Public Relations Officer confirmed that the operative who pulled the trigger has been identified and is being detained.<\/p>\n<p>The spokesman, however, failed to mention the name and rank of the killer cop.<\/p>\n<p>The PRO only said Odumosu directed that the \u201cofficer\u201d be tried and charged to court after dismissal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis, it is believed, will serve as a deterrent to others who do not act professionally in the course of their duties\u201d, Ajisebutu added.<\/p>\n<p>DAILY POST reports that Lagosians have begun to complain of alleged leniency granted errant and trigger happy officers.<\/p>\n<p>At the weekend, the Lagos Police Command announced that CSP Adegoke Akinlade, who lost his service pistol after office sex, was redeployed.<\/p>\n<p>Residents say Akinlade, the Denton Divisional Police Officer, should have been suspended pending the conclusion of investigations.<\/p>\n<p>The Force headquarters is looking into the matter and is expected to ensure Akinlade faces the music.<\/p>\n<p>Monsurat\u2019s family, friends and social media users are demanding justice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Lagos State Police Command is in the news again over the death of Monsurat Ojuade.
