{"id":392933,"date":"2021-09-11T14:05:35","date_gmt":"2021-09-11T13:05:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=392933"},"modified":"2021-09-11T14:07:40","modified_gmt":"2021-09-11T13:07:40","slug":"police-arrest-husband-wife-over-alleged-stealing-of-newborn-baby","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=392933","title":{"rendered":"Police arrest husband, wife over alleged stealing of newborn baby"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Police in Kano State have arrested a man and his wife over alleged kidnapping of a newborn baby at Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital Kano.<\/p>\n<p>Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa confirmed the arrest in a statement issued to DAILY POST.<\/p>\n<p>He said the new born baby was kidnapped on Wednesday after a woman delivered twins at Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital Kano where she was admitted.<\/p>\n<p>Kiyawa explained that the incident happened when a woman\u2019s sister, who was looking after the babies at the corridor of the Maternity ward, slept off.<\/p>\n<p>He said a team of policemen immediately stormed the scene and launched a search where the Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the hospital was sealed off and thoroughly combed, but the child could not be found.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSustained efforts, coupled with intelligence sharing led to the arrest of one Maryam Sadiq and her husband Abubakar Sadiq all of Rijiyar Zaki Quarters, Kano,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Kiyawa said the child was recovered from them in their home and had been reunited with the family.<\/p>\n<p>The case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department of the Command for discreet investigation and would be charged to court after the investigation.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong><em>(DailyPost)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Police in Kano State have arrested a man and his wife over alleged kidnapping of a newborn baby at Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital Kano.
