{"id":391307,"date":"2021-09-06T09:58:30","date_gmt":"2021-09-06T08:58:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=391307"},"modified":"2021-09-06T09:59:16","modified_gmt":"2021-09-06T08:59:16","slug":"ndlea-nabs-22-year-old-corps-member-for-allegedly-importing-drugs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=391307","title":{"rendered":"NDLEA nabs 22-year-old corps member for allegedly importing drugs"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">A 22-year-old National Youths Service Corps member, Arnold Maniru, has been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for allegedly importing four kilograms of drugged candies from the United Kingdom.<br \/>\nMr Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA Director, Media and Advocacy, in a statement made available to DAILY POST, explained that the Corps member serving with a government agency in Abuja was apprehended on Saturday, 28th August, 2021.<br \/>\nThe statement further explained that the victim was arrested following the interception of a consignment at the warehouse of a transport company.<br \/>\nAccording to the statement, the controlled delivery of the parcel containing the candies laced with Arizona, a strong variant of cannabis and some liquid, were subsequently carried out.<br \/>\nThe statement said in the same development, operatives attached to courier companies in Lagos have intercepted 1.2kg of cannabis, concealed inside locally made cookies going to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.<br \/>\nThe Director Media and Advocacy noted that 920 grams of cocaine hidden inside synthetic hair heading to Saudi Arabia were also obstructed in Lagos.<br \/>\nHe said, \u201cAnother 1.08kg cannabis, concealed in spray cans and going to Pakistan; and 625 grams of methamphetamine, hidden in clothing heading to Australia, were also seized.\u201d<\/div>\n<p><strong><em>(DailyPost)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A 22-year-old National Youths Service Corps member, Arnold Maniru, has been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for allegedly importing four kilograms of drugged candies from the United Kingdom.
