{"id":382560,"date":"2021-08-10T17:58:00","date_gmt":"2021-08-10T16:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=382560"},"modified":"2021-08-10T18:24:44","modified_gmt":"2021-08-10T17:24:44","slug":"ndlea-arrests-43-with-illicit-drugs-weighing-65-250kg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=382560","title":{"rendered":"NDLEA arrests 43 with illicit drugs weighing 65.250kg"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested 43 dealers and consumers of illicit substances in Nasarawa, Benue and Ondo states.<\/p>\n<p>A statement issued by Femi Babafemi, Director, Media &amp; Advocacy of NDLEA, said the suspects were arrested with 37.55 kilograms of assorted drugs.<\/p>\n<p>Babafemi said operatives in Nasarawa State raided notorious drug joints located in Kara Masaka, Ruwa Ruwa Uke, Abattoir at the border with FCT, Filing Bala, Masaka U- Turn and others for two consecutive days; 5th and 6th August 2021, arresting 41 suspects with assorted drugs such as cocaine, cannabis sativa, cough syrup with codeine, rohypnol and tramadol weighing 65.250kg.<\/p>\n<p>Cannabis plants planted by the drug dealers in the adjoining bushes were destroyed while all the stalls in the drug markets were dismantled and set ablaze.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that in Ondo State, the command on Monday, 9th August, 2021, raided Odopetu area of Akure in Akure South Local Government Area and arrested a 44-year-old, Mrs. Folake Ademola, while her husband escaped arrest.<\/p>\n<p>Babafemi stated that 65.400kg of cannabis sativa; skunk \u2013 500grams; loud- 16grams; Colorado- 34grams, were recovered from her.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, it brings the total of drugs seized from them to 65.950 kilograms.<\/p>\n<p>He added that in Benue State, a 34-year-old, identified as Iornum Emmanuel, was arrested at the NDLEA Aliade checkpoint on Sunday 8th August, 2021 with different quantities of assorted illicit drugs, which include; tramadol -500grams; diazepam- 1.5kg and exol 5- 7.9kg.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested 43 dealers and consumers of illicit substances in Nasarawa, Benue and Ondo states.
