{"id":379430,"date":"2021-07-31T21:59:46","date_gmt":"2021-07-31T20:59:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=379430"},"modified":"2021-07-31T22:02:28","modified_gmt":"2021-07-31T21:02:28","slug":"uniport-deputy-vice-chancellor-prof-andrew-efemini-dies-two-days-after-appointment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=379430","title":{"rendered":"UNIPORT Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Andrew Efemini dies two days after appointment"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">The Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Professor Andrew Efemini is dead.<br \/>\nProfessor Efemini died on Saturday, 31 July, at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.<br \/>\nHis death has been confirmed in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the University of Port Harcourt, Sam Kpenu.<br \/>\nUntil his death, Efemini was a professor of Psychology of Development in the Department Psychology, Faculty of Humanities.<br \/>\nHe was recently appointed as the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics) at the 459th Senate Meeting (Extra-ordinary) on Wednesday, July 28, 2021.<br \/>\nThe appointment was awaiting approval by the Governing Council of the institution.<br \/>\nAccording to the statement by the PRO \u201cthe Vice Chancellor, Professor Owunari Georgewill, described Professor Efemini as a man of ideas, whose contributions had assisted the growth of the University.\u201d<br \/>\nThe Vice Chancellor made the remark when he paid a condolence visit to the family of the deceased.<br \/>\nThe cause of his death has not been revealed at the time of filling this report.<br \/>\nHowever, the late professor recently underwent a successful surgery in India.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Professor Andrew Efemini is dead.
