{"id":372350,"date":"2021-07-10T07:56:58","date_gmt":"2021-07-10T06:56:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=372350"},"modified":"2021-07-10T08:33:55","modified_gmt":"2021-07-10T07:33:55","slug":"oko-iyabo-yomi-fabiyi-reacts-to-suspension-by-tampan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=372350","title":{"rendered":"Oko Iyabo: Yomi Fabiyi reacts to suspension by TAMPAN"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Actor Yomi Fabiyi has reacted to the indefinite suspension slammed on him by the Theater Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association (TAMPAN)<\/p>\n<p>DAILY POST had reported that TAMPAN in a statement on Friday said the actor was suspended for his new movie, \u2018Oko Iyabo\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>It said the actor was also suspended for gross professional misconducts and unethical practices.<\/p>\n<p>TAMPAN said having listened to the detailed defense of Fabiyi, the Producer\/Director of the controversial film \u2018Oko Iyabo\u2019 and his co-Director, Dele Matti, the Ethic, Conflict and Resolution Committee found them guilty of misconduct.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting, Fabiyi in an Instagram post on Friday said TAMPAN has no right to suspend him because he is not a member of the body.<\/p>\n<p>TAMPAN blows hot over Yomi Fabiyi\u2019s new movie, Oko Iyabo<\/p>\n<p>According to him, he was originally a member of the Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP), which TAMPAN broke away from.<\/p>\n<p>Describing the letter addressed as \u201cinappropriate and invalid, Yomi stressed that he did not at any point formalise his TAMPAN membership.<br \/>\n\u201cI\u2019m originally ANTP member, worst case I\u2019ll renew my membership there. I have never obtained or sign any form with TAMPAN or join any GUILD.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was made to pay for registration which I did but no form collected or formal procedure. The letter is inappropriate, not valid for me as a filmmaker.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAny reaction if necessary will be on the basis of human rights violation if I so wish to seek judicial redress.
