{"id":360030,"date":"2021-06-02T22:29:13","date_gmt":"2021-06-02T21:29:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=360030"},"modified":"2021-06-02T22:36:39","modified_gmt":"2021-06-02T21:36:39","slug":"gulak-wasnt-my-guest-uzodinma-rebukes-fani-kayode-over-assassination-remark","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=360030","title":{"rendered":"Gulak wasn&#8217;t my guest &#8211; Uzodinma rebukes Fani-Kayode over assassination remark"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has said the late Ahmed Gulak, former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan was not his guest.<\/p>\n<p>Rebuking Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister over his remark on Gulak\u2019s assassination, Uzodinma said the deceased was in the state for constitution review and not as his guest.<\/p>\n<p>DAILY POST recalls that some gunmen had on Sunday killed Gulak while on his way to the airport in Owerri, the state capital.<\/p>\n<p>Gulak: Fani-Kayode reveals those who assassinated Jonathan\u2019s ex-aide<\/p>\n<p>Reacting, Fani-Kayode had questioned why Uzodinma failed to provide adequate security for Gulak while in the state.<\/p>\n<p>However, the governor said the former minister was trying to reap from the unfortunate incident.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Oguwike Nwachuku, Uzodinma questioned Fani-Kayode\u2019s character.<\/p>\n<p>The statement reads: \u201cIt seems the former Aviation Minister wants to make capital of the unfortunate gruesome murder of Alhaji Gulak who was killed on Sunday morning around Ngor Okpala on his way to the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018They will pay\u2019 \u2013 Uzodinma on murder of Gulak in Imo<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut Fani-Kayode in his characteristic manner of always trying to reap from ugly situations has taken to his Facebook wall to make insinuations that suggest he does not want those behind Gulak\u2019s assassination unveiled.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOrdinarily one would not have bothered responding to the balderdash Fani-Kayode posted on his Facebook wall because Nigerians know the character that is him, but for the unsuspecting members of the public who may not know the reason behind his comments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cExplanations had been offered that Gulak was not Governor Uzodimma\u2019s guest as of the time he was killed in Imo, but had come to the State on the invitation of the organisers of the 1999 Constitution Review Committee of the Senate as a Consultant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has said the late Ahmed Gulak, former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan was not his guest.
