{"id":338218,"date":"2021-04-11T13:38:26","date_gmt":"2021-04-11T12:38:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=338218"},"modified":"2021-04-11T13:42:45","modified_gmt":"2021-04-11T12:42:45","slug":"154-suspects-arrested-for-armed-robbery-other-crimes-in-kano","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=338218","title":{"rendered":"154 suspects arrested for armed robbery, other crimes in Kano"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">The Police Command in Kano State on Sunday it arrested 154 suspects for armed robbery and other crimes in the last three months.<br \/>\nDSP Abdullahi Haruna, spokesperson for the command, in a statement on Sunday said the suspects were arrested at different times and locations in various raids conducted under the Operation Puff Adder.<br \/>\nHasruna said those arrested included 14 armed robbery suspects, 143 thugs, kidnappers, fraudsters, car thieves, bandits\u2019 supplier, and a cattle rustler.<br \/>\nThe spokesperson said that the command recovered five riffles including one AK-49, two AK-47, two pistols and other dangerous weapons as well as nine cars, two tricycles, illicit drugs, 99 pieces of 100 fake dollar notes and GSM phones.<br \/>\nHaruna said that the police on March 20, arrested one Musa Abubakar, 23, who conspired with others at large to attack one Hassan Shariff at Gunduwawa village on Kano-Hadejia Road.<br \/>\nThe suspects, he said, shot the victim on the shoulder, robbed him of his car and other items.<br \/>\n\u201cOn Jan. 13, suspected armed robbers attacked personnel of Wanxiang Mosquito Company located at Zenawa village in Gezawa Local Government Area (LGA) of the State.<br \/>\n\u201cThe suspects carted away with N13.5 million, four smart phones valued at 600 dollars, a laptop computer and other items.<br \/>\n\u201cThe following suspects -Musa Ibrahim Ringim, 48, Abdulwahab Ubale, 20, and Sama\u2019ila Bello were arrested in connection with the crime.<br \/>\n\u201cFollowing the arrest of one Abubakar Musa, 27, along Birnin Gwari and Falgore Forest axis , another notorious kidnapper\/armed robber was also arrested in possession of an AK-49 rifle with 59 live ammunition.<br \/>\n\u201cMusa was arrested while trying to establish a kidnapping base in Falgore Forest,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nAccording to him, the command has arrested a logistics supplier, who specialised in supplying motorcycles and drugs to bandits in Zamfara.<br \/>\n\u201cInvestigation revealed that, so far, the suspect has delivered more than 60 motorcycles to the bandits in Zamfara.<br \/>\n\u201cHe has been charged to court,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nHaruna said all the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations were concluded.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Police Command in Kano State on Sunday it arrested 154 suspects for armed robbery and other crimes in the last three months.
