Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has accused the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, of being afraid of his rising profile.
\nBello made the remark while faulting the call for his probe over alleged money laundering.
\nBello said the PDP was carrying out its \u201cusual comedy show\u201d by asking the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to probe him for alleged money laundering.
\nPDP had accused the governor of using some government officials and private organisations to divert public funds in the State.
\nHowever, the governor said his rising profile was a threat to PDP.
\nBello spoke through Kingsley Fanwo, the state\u2019s Commissioner for Information, yesterday.
\nHe said: \u201cIt is one of their comedies.
\n\u201cThey just need to separate the reality in government from the Nollywood they have joined.
\n\u201cLike everyone, we are seeing it as another comedy. Our former Senator is doing well in his industry.
\n\u201cHe just needs to tell EFCC that he was acting a fiction. That will complete the process.
\n\u201cThe rising profile of the governor (Bello) is already a threat to the opposition. They felt they could slow him down.\u201d
