{"id":322045,"date":"2021-03-02T20:11:14","date_gmt":"2021-03-02T19:11:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=322045"},"modified":"2021-03-02T20:11:21","modified_gmt":"2021-03-02T19:11:21","slug":"shoprite-staff-paralyze-activities-in-ibadan-over-non-payment-of-entitlements-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=322045","title":{"rendered":"Shoprite staff paralyze activities in Ibadan over non-payment of entitlements [PHOTOS]"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Hundreds of staff of Shoprite in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Tuesday, staged a protest to kick against nonpayment of their entitlements.<\/p>\n<p>Those who spoke to DAILY POST, noted that they staged the peaceful protest over the decision of the management to hand over the affairs of the shop to a new company without proper arrangement for the staff.<\/p>\n<p>Our correspondent reports that some of the staff carried placards to demand for their entitlements.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the placards read, \u201c5-10 years without promotion and you want to abandon us\u201d \u201cNo handover till pay off\u201d and \u201cwe must be settled by Shoprite before they run\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-871664\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/storage\/2021\/03\/Shoprite-staff-paralyze-activities-in-Ibadan-over-non-payment-of-entitlements.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1080\" height=\"809\"><\/p>\n<p>Branch Chairman, National Union of Shops and Distributing Employee, Coco-Mall, Dugbe, Mr. Silvanus Obisha, who spoke during the protest, said the protest is happening simultaneously in all Shoprite outlets across the country.<\/p>\n<p>Obisha said the union has sealed all the Shoprite outlets in Ibadan and other states to press home their demands.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that all efforts to meet the Management of Shoprite have not yielded results.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-871663\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/storage\/2021\/03\/1614708318_296_Shoprite-staff-paralyze-activities-in-Ibadan-over-non-payment-of-entitlements.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1080\" height=\"809\"><\/p>\n<p>He also alleged that members of the management team were not ready to dialogue with the workers.<\/p>\n<p>However, the Human Resources Manager in charge of Shoprite at Ring Road in Ibadan, Mrs. Kagho, when contacted, insisted that she was not authorized to speak to the press<\/p>\n<p>She said, \u201cYes. I am aware of the protest.
