{"id":315553,"date":"2021-02-14T09:01:15","date_gmt":"2021-02-14T08:01:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=315553"},"modified":"2021-02-14T09:01:39","modified_gmt":"2021-02-14T08:01:39","slug":"naf-officers-several-bandits-die-in-kaduna-battle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=315553","title":{"rendered":"NAF officers, several bandits die in Kaduna battle"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Some Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Sector 271 personnel and scores of bandits died on Saturday in Kaduna.<br \/>\nThe battle occurred at Ungwan Laya near Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.<br \/>\nIn a statement, NAF Director of Information, Air Vice Marshal Ibikunle Daramola, said troops were able to foil an ambush.<br \/>\nDaramola noted that officers who sustained varying degrees of injuries are receiving treatment.<br \/>\nChief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal Oladayo Amao, has condoled with the family of the fallen heroes.<br \/>\nThe CAS has also visited the injured personnel at the hospital.<br \/>\nHe urged troops to remain resolute and continue to work with other security agencies to rid the Northwest of all criminal elements.<br \/>\nThe Kaduna government confirmed that NAF conducted armed reconnaissance in Birnin Gwari and Giwa local government areas.<br \/>\nThe locations were Gajere, Sabon-Kuyello, Ungwan Farinbatu, Sabuwa, Kutemeshi, Dogon-Mu\u2019azu, Dogon-Dawa, Kidandan, Sabon-Birni, Galadimawa, Rikau, Yadi, Kuduru, Nacibi, Farin-Ruwa and adjoining settlements.<br \/>\nCommissioner for Internal Security, Samuel Aruwan, in a statement said bandits detected with herds of cattle at Galadimawa South were eliminated.<br \/>\n\u201cSimilarly, bandits were sighted at Nacibi fleeing southwards on motorcycles; they were engaged accordingly and neutralized.<br \/>\n\u201cA group of huts observed to be active with bandits was engaged with rockets\u201d, the official added.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Sector 271 personnel and scores of bandits died on Saturday in Kaduna.
