{"id":314716,"date":"2021-02-12T06:39:25","date_gmt":"2021-02-12T05:39:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=314716"},"modified":"2021-02-12T06:52:42","modified_gmt":"2021-02-12T05:52:42","slug":"lateef-jakande-hell-be-long-remembered-for-his-legacies-impacts-oyetola-mourns-ex-lagos-gov","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=314716","title":{"rendered":"Lateef Jakande: He\u2019ll be long remembered for his legacies, impacts \u2013 Oyetola mourns ex-Lagos gov"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State has revealed that former Lagos State Governor, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, will be long remembered for his legacies and impacts.<br \/>\nDAILY POST reports that Jakande died on Thursday morning in Lagos State at the age of 91 and his death was disclosed by the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide-Sanwo-Olu.<br \/>\nOyetola, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ismail Omipidan, on Thursday in Osogbo also commiserated with the entire Jakande\u2019s family and friends.<br \/>\nThe governor said that Jakande was a professional and a respected journalist, a progressive politician, a distinguished public servant and an outstanding leader, who demonstrated strong concerns and commitments to the welfare of the people he served as governor.<br \/>\nOyetola noted that when the late Jakande served as governor of Lagos between 1979 and 1983, he brought significant development to the State and left remarkable legacies that made him a reference point for politicians, not only in Lagos but across the country.<br \/>\nHe said: \u201cOn behalf of the Government and the good people of the State of Osun, I extend my heartfelt condolences to Gov.
