The Chairman, Nigerian Governors Forum, NGF, Kayode Fayemi on Tuesday said 131, 242 Nigerians have tested positive for COVID-19.<\/p>\n
Disclosing this in his address at the Chatham House Event, London, Fayemi said Nigeria was expecting 80 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine.<\/p>\n
He also revealed that about 1.3 million Nigerians have tested positive for COVID-19.<\/p>\n
Kayode, who is also the Governor of Ekiti State lamented that the virus has caused many disruptions in Nigeria\u2019s health and economic status.<\/p>\n
According to Fayemi: \u201cThe COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant disruptions to the health and economy of nations, including Nigeria.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs of today, Nigeria has tested 1.3 million persons for COVID-19, with 10% (131,242) of these numbers confirmed positive.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are working with the Federal Government to ensure we have vaccines available in the country.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe expect about 80 million doses of vaccines would be available in 2021 to cover 40% of the population, while another 60 million doses are being planned for 2022.\u201d<\/p>\n
