{"id":299118,"date":"2021-01-02T10:07:38","date_gmt":"2021-01-02T09:07:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=299118"},"modified":"2021-01-02T10:09:12","modified_gmt":"2021-01-02T09:09:12","slug":"i-killed-my-girlfriend-because-she-was-pregnant-29-year-old-confesses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=299118","title":{"rendered":"I killed my girlfriend because she was pregnant &#8211; 29-year-old confesses"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">A 29-year-old, identified as Mustapha Idris, has been sentenced to death by hanging by the Jigawa State High court for killing his pregnant girlfriend, Nafisa Hashimu.<\/p>\n<p>Mustapha and late Nafisu, a divorcee, resided in Daneji village in the State.<\/p>\n<p>Following the police investigation, it was discovered that Mustapha slit the throat of late Nafisa, leaving her to die in the pool of her blood.<\/p>\n<p>When interrogated, the suspect initially denied the allegation but later confessed to committing the crime.<\/p>\n<p>Idris confessed that he killed Ms Nafisu after she told him she was three months pregnant<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI killed her to avoid the shame of giving birth outside wedlock.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am ashamed of how the society will see us after she delivers the unborn child out of wedlock, and thus I decided to terminate her life to stay away from shame,\u201d he said in court.<\/p>\n<p>In a ruling, the presiding judge, Justice Ahmed Kazaure, found him guilty and sentenced him to death by hanging.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A 29-year-old, identified as Mustapha Idris, has been sentenced to death by hanging by the Jigawa State High court for killing his pregnant girlfriend, Nafisa Hashimu.
