{"id":290769,"date":"2020-12-09T08:17:46","date_gmt":"2020-12-09T07:17:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=290769"},"modified":"2020-12-09T08:18:05","modified_gmt":"2020-12-09T07:18:05","slug":"psg-vs-istanbul-basaksehir-uefa-takes-decision-on-abandoned-champions-league-tie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=290769","title":{"rendered":"PSG vs Istanbul Basaksehir: UEFA takes decision on abandoned Champions League tie"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">UEFA has rescheduled the Champions League game between Paris Saint-Germain and Istanbul Basaksehir, after it was suspended on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n<p>The match was abandoned after players from both sides walked off the pitch, alleging a match official used a racial slur towards the Turkish club\u2019s assistant coach.<\/p>\n<p>Basaksehir players claimed fourth official, Sebastian Coltescu from Romania, had used a racist term against assistant coach, Pierre Webo, before he was sent off.<\/p>\n<p>Match referee, Ovidiu Hategan of Romania had shown Webo the red card.<\/p>\n<p>UEFA has now said the game will be played 5.55pm on Wednesday with new officials.<\/p>\n<p>The football governing body has also opened an investigation into the incident.<\/p>\n<p>A statement read: \u201cFollowing an alleged incident involving the fourth official, the match was temporarily suspended.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter consultation with both teams, it was agreed that the match would restart with a different fourth official.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUEFA will thoroughly investigate the matter and further communication will be made in due course.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UEFA has rescheduled the Champions League game between Paris Saint-Germain and Istanbul Basaksehir, after it was suspended on Tuesday night.
