{"id":288707,"date":"2020-12-03T19:29:32","date_gmt":"2020-12-03T18:29:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=288707"},"modified":"2020-12-03T19:32:26","modified_gmt":"2020-12-03T18:32:26","slug":"frsc-rescues-kidnap-victim-in-ebonyi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=288707","title":{"rendered":"FRSC rescues kidnap victim in Ebonyi"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">The Ebonyi State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it foiled an alleged kidnap attempt and also rescued a victim from \u2018one chance vehicle\u2019 operators.<\/p>\n<p>The Sector Commander, Mrs. Stella Uchegbu, stated this in a statement on Thursday, NAN reports.<\/p>\n<p>Uchegbu stated that the corps patrol team at Igbeagu, Izzi Local Government Area, rescued a female commuter who unfortunately entered a one-chance vehicle at Sharon Junction, Onuebeonyi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe team successfully rescued the lady who was held captive by the kidnappers in a Toyota Avensis car, heading for Ogoja in Cross River from Abakiliki.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe team noticed that a woman was screaming for help inside the vehicle and dragging the steering with the driver.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn sensing danger, the team pursued the vehicle and succeeded in rescuing the woman,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Uchegbu noted that the driver of the vehicle was arrested while the other occupants escaped.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe patrol team also recovered the sum of N160, 000, which the woman said the suspected kidnappers forcefully collected from her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe team took the suspect and the woman to the police headquarters in Abakaliki, while the money was returned to the woman.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe vehicle used for the alleged operation was also handed over to the police,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ebonyi State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it foiled an alleged kidnap attempt and also rescued a victim from \u2018one chance vehicle\u2019 operators.
