{"id":284925,"date":"2020-11-23T17:48:58","date_gmt":"2020-11-23T16:48:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=284925"},"modified":"2020-11-23T17:56:01","modified_gmt":"2020-11-23T16:56:01","slug":"court-remands-two-men-over-alleged-rape-of-minors-in-abuja","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=284925","title":{"rendered":"Court remands two men over alleged rape of minors in Abuja"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">An FCT High Court, Nyanya on Monday, remanded one Augustine Ajuwa, 36 and Ibrahim Shuaibu, 26 in a Correctional Centre for allegedly raping a nine and 11- year-old minors.<br \/>\nNAN reports that the prosecuting counsel John Ijagbemi told the court that on Aug. 30, 2020, at Guzape, Asokoro village, FCT, Ajuwa defiled a nine-year-old girl.<br \/>\nIjagbemi told the court that the offence is contrary to section 31 (1) and punishable under Section 31 (2) of the Child Rights Act, 2002.<br \/>\nHe also said that Shuaibu defiled an 11-year -old girl on September 3, 2020, at Lugbe Primary School at about 7 pm.<br \/>\nHe informed the court that the offence is contrary to Section 31 (1) and punishable under Section 31 (2) of the Child Rights Act 2002.<br \/>\nDelivering Judgement, the Justice, Peter Kekemeke ordered for their remands after they pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them.<br \/>\nHe then adjourned the two cases until Jan. 18, 2021, for hearing of Ajuwa \u2018s case and Jan. 28, 2021, for Shuaibu \u2018s case.\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An FCT High Court, Nyanya on Monday, remanded one Augustine Ajuwa, 36 and Ibrahim Shuaibu, 26 in a Correctional Centre for allegedly raping a nine and 11- year-old minors.
