{"id":270149,"date":"2020-10-15T14:23:25","date_gmt":"2020-10-15T13:23:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=270149"},"modified":"2020-10-15T14:23:50","modified_gmt":"2020-10-15T13:23:50","slug":"family-confirms-death-of-makindes-mother","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=270149","title":{"rendered":"Family confirms death of Makinde&#8217;s mother"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">The family of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has confirmed the death of the Governor\u2019s mother.<\/p>\n<p>DAILY POST gathered that Makinde\u2019s mother died on Thursday. <\/p>\n<p>The family has, however, confirmed the death of the deceased.<\/p>\n<p>The family said that members of the family will miss her.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement made available to DAILY POST by Barrister Muyiwa Makinde, the family said that the deceased died at the age of 81.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith total submission to the will of the Almighty God, we announce the passing to the great beyond of our mother, Mrs. Abigail Makinde, who departed this world in the early hours of today, Thursday, October 15, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThough Mama gave no indication of any sickness, she slept peacefully in the Lord at the age of 81, in the early hours of the day at her Ibadan home, 7B, Oyeleke Street, Ikolaba, Ibadan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile we appreciate the Almighty for sparing her life thus far, we must confess that we will surely miss her counsel, motherly role and impact on the lives of her children and grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will equally miss her impactful role as a stabilizing force in the family, her community and especially Oyo State, which is currently being governed by her son and our brother, Engineer Seyi Makinde. We sincerely appreciate the prayers and condolences of our numerous well-wishers.
