{"id":270125,"date":"2020-10-15T14:28:45","date_gmt":"2020-10-15T13:28:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=270125"},"modified":"2020-10-15T15:09:38","modified_gmt":"2020-10-15T14:09:38","slug":"senate-confirms-nasir-isa-kwarra-npc-chairman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=270125","title":{"rendered":"Senate confirms Nasir Isa Kwarra NPC Chairman"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">The Nigerian Senate on Thursday confirmed Alhaji Isa Kwarra from Nasarawa State as Chairman of the National Population Commission.<\/p>\n<p>The confirmation followed a satisfactory report of the Senate Committee on National Identity and National Population Commission.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman of the Committee, Senator Ahmed Saidu Alkali, said the nominees were screened and found satisfactory with the requisite qualifications to serve as Chairman and Commissioners.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, there was no petition from anywhere that would have encumbered their nomination, hence, the Committee recommended their confirmation by the Committee of the whole.<\/p>\n<p>Before the Senators voice vote for confirmation, Senator Sabi Abdullahi urged the lawmakers to confirm them since there was no controversy involving any of the nominees.<\/p>\n<p>Other nominees that were confirmed as Commissioners are:<\/p>\n<p>Ibrahim Mohammed \u2013 Bauchi<br \/>\nAjayi Ayodeji Sunday \u2013 Ekiti<br \/>\nHon. Joseph Kwali Shazin \u2013 FCT<br \/>\nGarba A.G. Zakar K\/Hausa \u2013 Jigawa<br \/>\nEngr.
