{"id":267139,"date":"2020-10-07T22:55:18","date_gmt":"2020-10-07T21:55:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=267139"},"modified":"2020-10-07T23:00:39","modified_gmt":"2020-10-07T22:00:39","slug":"ondo-election-i-would-love-to-be-in-akeredolus-shoes-jegede","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=267139","title":{"rendered":"Ondo election: I would love to be in Akeredolu&#8217;s shoes &#8211; Jegede"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">The candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Saturday\u2019s Ondo state governorship election, Eyitayo Jegede, has said he would love to be in Governor Rotimi Akeredolu\u2019s shoes.<br \/>\nJegede stated this on Wednesday, during a governorship debate organised by Channels TV.<br \/>\nHe was countering statements made by Akeredolu that he (Jegede) was part of the administration that owed pensioners, civil servants and generally performed below expectations.<br \/>\n\u201cThe government he (Jegede) served in owed arrears of pensions; we paid.<br \/>\n\u201cMorale was low in the civil service and the civil servants were dying, being owed seven months salaries; we paid,\u201d Akeredolu said.<br \/>\nIn response, Jegede said: \u201cI do understand Mr. Governor\u2019s emotions. I would love to be in his shoes. I would love to be a governor so the people can compare what I will do in three and a half years to what he has done.<br \/>\n\u201cThis is because I do not know the basis of comparison between a commissioner (himself) and a governor (Akeredolu).<br \/>\n\u201cYes, I was part of the government. But that administration did well.
