Babagana Zulum of Borno State has condoled with the Nigerian Army over the demise of Col. Dahiru Bako, who was killed in an ambush by Boko Haram insurgents, NAN reports.<\/p>\n<p>Bako was killed on Monday while leading his troops on a clearance at Sabon Gari-Wajiroko axis in Damboa Local Government Area of the state.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting, Zulum, in a statement released by his Special Adviser Media and Strategies, Malam Isa Gusau in Maiduguri on Monday, said his sacrifices and those of other fallen soldiers would not be in vain.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLate Col. Bako was a man dearly loved by many people.<br \/>\n\u201cHe was a gallant soldier who inspired his troops and led them to frontlines with alot of courage that was clearly out of pure patriotism.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBako was a man who fought hard and very well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe defeated many enemies of peace and protected our people to the point that he gave his life defending the people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy the God\u2019s special grace,his sacrifices and that of many other heroes like him in the armed forces shall never be in vain.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe deaths of our heroes, sad as they are, shows confidence in the strong will exhibited them, that defending our country comes first in everything.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will forever be grateful to late Col.
