{"id":259691,"date":"2020-09-18T09:05:37","date_gmt":"2020-09-18T08:05:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=259691"},"modified":"2020-09-18T09:09:19","modified_gmt":"2020-09-18T08:09:19","slug":"ondo-election-inec-begins-recruitment-of-nysc-members-as-ad-hoc-staff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=259691","title":{"rendered":"Ondo Election: INEC begins recruitment of NYSC members as ad-hoc staff"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has announced the opening of a special link for the registration of additional National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), members as ad hoc staff for Ondo State governorship election.<\/p>\n<p>The commission disclosed this in a statement issued by Mr Festus Okoye, National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, after its meeting in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>Okoye said that as a result of the disruption of normal processes in the electoral process occasioned by the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, INEC could not get the full complement of the NYSC members required as ad hoc staff for the election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cConsequently, the Commission had to broaden its net to recruit the required ad hoc staff from tertiary institutions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, the NYSC authorities recently told the Commission that they were presently in a position to mobilize more corps members for the Ondo State governorship election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMeanwhile, the portal for the recruitment of ad hoc staff for the said election had closed since Aug. 21,\u201d the statement read in part.<br \/>\nHe added that after due consideration, INEC has decided to allow the recruitment of these additional NYSC members only.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA special link to the registration form has, therefore, been provided to NYSC authorities to be used for this purpose,\u201d Okoye added.<\/p>\n<p>(DailyPost)<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has announced the opening of a special link for the registration of additional National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), members as ad hoc staff for Ondo State governorship election.
