{"id":237317,"date":"2020-07-18T13:05:52","date_gmt":"2020-07-18T12:05:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=237317"},"modified":"2020-07-18T14:21:56","modified_gmt":"2020-07-18T13:21:56","slug":"i-receive-calls-visits-over-allegations-against-me-malami-petitions-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=237317","title":{"rendered":"I receive calls, visits over allegations against me &#8211; Malami petitions Police"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police over publications accusing him of massive corruption.<br \/>\nHe wants the police to carry out comprehensive investigation into the \u201clibelous and criminal defamation of his character and integrity\u201d.<br \/>\nMalami had stated that he was traumatized by the allegations.<br \/>\nHis petition signed by Sunday Ibrahim Ameh, SAN, is demanding apology and retraction.<br \/>\nIt said under Malami, the extant National Anti Corruption Strategy was conceived, designed, approved by the Federal Executive Council and is currently being implemented.<br \/>\nThe petition noted that his reappointment as AGF \u201cis first of its kind and to our mind, a testimony of his unparalleled performance in office\u201d.<br \/>\nMalami said there was a seeming coordinated internet\/social media attack on him on July 10, 11 and 12, 2020.<br \/>\nHe insisted that the articles were defamatory, with intention to ridicule him before the world.<br \/>\nThe petition added that due to the publications, Malami \u201cstill receives several telephone calls and visits from well-meaning Nigerians, his<br \/>\nfriends and associates from all over the world\u201d.<br \/>\nAmeh urged the IGP to act, adding that his client deserved justice.\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police over publications accusing him of massive corruption.
