{"id":235441,"date":"2020-07-13T10:06:40","date_gmt":"2020-07-13T09:06:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=235441"},"modified":"2020-07-13T10:09:02","modified_gmt":"2020-07-13T09:09:02","slug":"dubai-firm-bars-nigerians-from-applying-for-job-after-arrest-of-hushpuppi-others","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=235441","title":{"rendered":"Dubai Firm Bars Nigerians From Applying For Job After Arrest Of Hushpuppi, Others"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>A Dubai, United Arab Emirates-based company, Shirley Recruitment Consultants, has released details for recruitment of merchandisers and stated that Nigerians were exempted from applying.<br \/>\n<span class=\"container container-pod container-pod-short\"><span class=\"adunit-parent hide block-module block-module-ad block-module-ad-300x250\"><span class=\"block-module-image-wrapper\"><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>This comes days after Ramon Olorunwa Abass popularly known as Hushpuppi and other Nigerians were arrested for Internet fraud in Dubai and extradited to the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from being blacklisted from applying for jobs in some Dubai firms, Nigerians have also been barred from applying for tourist visa to the Arabian tourist hub.<br \/>\n<span class=\"ds-1col file file-image file-image-jpeg view-mode-embedded centered clearfix block-story-object block-story-object-resource block-story-object-resource-image\"><br \/>\n<span class=\"block-story-object-asset\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"media-element file-embedded\" typeof=\"foaf:Image\" src=\"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/storage\/2020\/07\/Dubai-Firm-Bars-Nigerians-From-Applying-For-Job-After-Arrest-Of-Hushpuppi-Others.jpeg\" alt=\"\"><\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In a letter, the UAE authorities made it known that Nigerian passport holders were not permitted to obtain a tourism visa to the country in the meantime.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDear applicant, Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately, your visa application has been rejected as Nigerian passport holders are not permitted to obtain a tourism visa to the UAE in the meantime,\u201d part of the letter read.<\/p>\n<p>Hushpuppi is accused by the Federal Bereau of Investigation in the US of scamming several individuals and businesses of millions of dollars through various Internet fraud and risks maximum sentence if convicted for the offence.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Dubai, United Arab Emirates-based company, Shirley Recruitment Consultants, has released details for recruitment of merchandisers and stated that Nigerians were exempted from applying.
