{"id":225204,"date":"2020-06-10T23:51:28","date_gmt":"2020-06-10T22:51:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=225204"},"modified":"2020-06-10T23:53:25","modified_gmt":"2020-06-10T22:53:25","slug":"bauchi-frontline-doctor-dies-of-covid-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=225204","title":{"rendered":"Bauchi Frontline Doctor Dies Of COVID-19"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Dr Bello Katagum, a COVID-19 frontline health worker in Bauchi State, has died of the virus.<br \/>\n<span class=\"container container-pod container-pod-short\"><span class=\"adunit-parent hide block-module block-module-ad block-module-ad-300x250\"><span class=\"block-module-image-wrapper\"><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>His death was announced by Dr Rilwanu Mohammed, Executive Chairman of Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency during the daily briefing of the COVID-19 update in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Bala Mohammed praised the late doctor, describing him as a \u201crespected pillar of health management in Bauchi and Nigeria\u201d.<br \/>\n<span class=\"ds-1col file file-image file-image-jpeg view-mode-embedded centered clearfix block-story-object block-story-object-resource block-story-object-resource-image\"><br \/>\n<span class=\"block-story-object-asset\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"media-element file-embedded\" typeof=\"foaf:Image\" src=\"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/storage\/2020\/06\/Bauchi-Frontline-Doctor-Dies-Of-COVID-19.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cWe lost a doctor today to COVID-19, he was a most respected pillar of health management in Bauchi and Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was one of the first consultants we ever produced in the North and unfortunately we lost this gem. He is part of the index cases of my deputy governor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBello has given us so much support in Bauchi State, he established a hospital, he treated our parents and he was even a resident in the hospital just to be there for us all.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis death was a big loss for us.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the state confirmed it has 131 current active cases having received an increase in positive cases.<\/p>\n<p>The COVID-19 response team said the state is awaiting results of 71 samples as more samples will be collected and sent for testing.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr Bello Katagum, a COVID-19 frontline health worker in Bauchi State, has died of the virus.
