{"id":219143,"date":"2020-05-17T08:16:25","date_gmt":"2020-05-17T07:16:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=219143"},"modified":"2020-05-17T08:23:12","modified_gmt":"2020-05-17T07:23:12","slug":"makinde-confirms-31-new-cases-of-coronavirus-in-oyo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=219143","title":{"rendered":"Makinde confirms 31 new cases of coronavirus in Oyo"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has confirmed thirty one new cases of coronavirus in the State.<\/p>\n<p>Makinde, who doubles as Chairman of the State Taskforce on COVID-19 made this announcement via series of tweets in his verified Twitter handle, Saturday night.<\/p>\n<p>The Governor said that with the thirty one new cases, the state now has one hundred and seven (107) confirmed cases of coronavirus.<\/p>\n<p>Makinde said, \u201cThe COVID-19 confirmation tests for thirty-one suspected cases came back POSITIVE. Thirty of these cases are members of staff of the same organisation based in Ibadan South West Local Government Area. The organisation has been shut down and will be decontaminated. \u201d<\/p>\n<p>He urged members of the public to remain calm as the situation was under control.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe urge members of the public to remain calm as the situation is under control. Intensified contact tracing has already commenced. We will give an update on any additional measures that may need to be taken.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe remaining one case is from Egbeda Local Government Area.
