{"id":218962,"date":"2020-05-16T08:37:35","date_gmt":"2020-05-16T07:37:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=218962"},"modified":"2020-05-16T08:41:37","modified_gmt":"2020-05-16T07:41:37","slug":"oyo-govt-confirms-3-new-cases-of-coronavirus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=218962","title":{"rendered":"Oyo gov&#8217;t confirms 3 new cases of coronavirus"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Friday confirmed three (3) new cases of coronavirus also known as COVID-19 in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Makinde, who doubles as chairman of the COVID-19 task force in the state made this announcement in a series of tweets on his verified Twitter handle, Friday night.<\/p>\n<p>With the three new cases, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Oyo State has risen to 76.<\/p>\n<p>Makinde noted that the three new cases were recorded in Oriire and Oluyole Local Government Areas of the state.<\/p>\n<p>He said that 2 of the 3 new cases were recorded in Oriire of the Ogbomoso geopolitical zone while one case was recorded in Oluyole Local Government of Ibadan zone.<\/p>\n<p>Makinde said, \u201cThe COVID-19 confirmation tests for three suspected cases came back positive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwo cases are from Oriire Local Government Area and one is from Oluyole Local Government Area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State as at 8 pm today, is seventy-six.\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Friday confirmed three (3) new cases of coronavirus also known as COVID-19 in the state.
