{"id":206844,"date":"2020-04-03T18:05:17","date_gmt":"2020-04-03T17:05:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=206844"},"modified":"2020-04-03T18:05:54","modified_gmt":"2020-04-03T17:05:54","slug":"covid-19-nigeria-now-has-eight-testing-laboratories-ncdc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=206844","title":{"rendered":"COVID-19: Nigeria now has eight testing laboratories -NCDC"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has said that Nigeria now has eight laboratories to conduct sample tests for the Coronavirus disease.<\/p>\n<p>The Director-General of NCDC, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, made this known during the Presidential Task Force Briefing on COVID-19 in the country, on Friday in Abuja, NAN reports.<\/p>\n<p>He said \u201cOne more testing laboratory opened in Lagos today. Nigeria now has eight laboratories for testing for COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe new Lab is the Bio security Facility in Lagos State.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo Lagos now has three Labs. Later today we will activate a Lab in Abuja, and then Kano will be next.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also said that the center would conduct tests for the virus across the country quickly without compromising on standards.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, \u201das much as speed was important, accuracy was also important, and the nation had to find a balance\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Recall that the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday morning, confirmed six new cases of coronavirus in the country.<\/p>\n<p>As at 11:00 am 3rd April there are 190 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Twenty have been discharged with two deaths<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Thursday, announced that eleven coronavirus patients have been discharged at the Infectious Disease Center, Yaba Mainland Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>This brings to 24, the total number of discharged COVID-19 patients in the country.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has said that Nigeria now has eight laboratories to conduct sample tests for the Coronavirus disease.
