{"id":206791,"date":"2020-04-03T13:09:00","date_gmt":"2020-04-03T12:09:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=206791"},"modified":"2020-04-03T13:10:38","modified_gmt":"2020-04-03T12:10:38","slug":"enugu-police-arrest-six-suspected-armed-robbers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=206791","title":{"rendered":"Enugu: Police arrest six suspected armed robbers"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">The Police Command in Enugu State has arrested six notorious armed robbers terrorizing residents of the state.<\/p>\n<p>The Command\u2019s Public Relations Officer, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, made this known in a statement on Friday, stressing that the members of the armed gang were arrested between March 24 and 25th within the state.<\/p>\n<p>Then ASP also said the command recovered one AK-47 rifle with number 12097; three live ammunition, one tricycle, one cutlass, one Infinix Hot phone, and one Samsung Galaxy S7 phone from the suspects.<\/p>\n<p>He gave the names of the suspects as Eneh Ekene, 35; Ani Chinedu, 32, also known as \u201cDoctor\u2019\u2019; Chidiebere Ogwudire, 21 and Jideofor Onyedika, 32, also known as \u201cTupac\u2019\u2019, Okeugwu Chidera, 22 and Sunday Okereke, 24, also known as \u201cObere\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cThe arrest was made following intelligence gathered by the Command\u2019s Special Anti-Robbery Squad, which led to the arrest of Eneh Ekene at Ugbo-Odogwu, Trans-Ekulu, Enugu on March 24 at about 11 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne Bajaj Tricycle (Keke), with registration number ENU 372 WB, which he bought from the gang at a rate of N150, 000 was recovered.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspect led the police operatives to where they arrested Ani Chinedu and Chidiebere Ogwudire, who allegedly sold the tricycle to him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn March 25, the suspects further led police operatives to the same Ugbo-Odogwu area, where Jideofor Onyedika was arrested,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n<p>Ndukwe said prior investigations revealed that the suspects had been involved in several armed robbery operations within the state.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, Further investigation is ongoing to identify, arrest, and prosecute other members of the gang that are now on the run, NAN reports.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Police Command in Enugu State has arrested six notorious armed robbers terrorizing residents of the state.
