{"id":205712,"date":"2020-03-30T12:25:00","date_gmt":"2020-03-30T11:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=205712"},"modified":"2020-03-30T12:25:33","modified_gmt":"2020-03-30T11:25:33","slug":"country-music-legend-joe-diffies-dies-of-coronavirus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=205712","title":{"rendered":"Country music legend, Joe Diffies dies of coronavirus"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Joe Diffie, Grammy-winning country music artist, has died after contracting the deadly coronavirus disease.<\/p>\n<p>His death was announced by his publicist in a statement, disclosing that Diffie, 61, died on Sunday from health issues related to the deadly disease.<\/p>\n<p>He said \u201cGrammy-winning country music legend Joe Diffie passed away today, Sunday, March 29, from complications of coronavirus (COVID-19).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis family respects their privacy at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Diffie had released a statement two days before he died, saying he had contracted the virus and was receiving treatment.<\/p>\n<p>He wrote: \u201cI am under the care of medical professionals and currently receiving treatment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy family and I are asking for privacy at this time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dWe want to remind the public and all my fans to be vigilant, cautious and careful during this pandemic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The singer made 13 albums, had more than 20 Top 10 hits and was well known for his songs which include \u2018home\u2019, \u2018if the devil danced\u2019, \u2018third rock from the sun\u2019, \u2018pickup man\u2019 and \u2018bigger than the Beatles\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The singer won a Grammy Award for \u201cSame Old Train,\u201d in 1998 a collaboration with a dozen other artists; two of his 13 albums went platinum and another two were certified gold.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Joe Diffie, Grammy-winning country music artist, has died after contracting the deadly coronavirus disease.
