{"id":203615,"date":"2020-03-22T15:18:44","date_gmt":"2020-03-22T14:18:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=203615"},"modified":"2020-03-22T15:40:54","modified_gmt":"2020-03-22T14:40:54","slug":"cross-river-kidnapped-medical-doctors-wife-released","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=203615","title":{"rendered":"Cross River: Kidnapped Medical Doctor&#8217;s wife released"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Less than twenty hours after the Chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) Dr Agam Ayuk issued a communiqu\u00e9 on Saturday that the branch will not honour the order of the President, Dr Francis Adebayo Faduyile, the wife of their colleague has been released.<br \/>\nThe victim, Mrs Ekanem was released on Saturday night, about 10pm but DAILY POST source denied knowledge about ransom.<br \/>\nMrs Ekanem is the wife of a medical Doctor working in Akwa Ibom State.<br \/>\nShe was kidnapped on March 10 when she stepped out of her house in Calabar, on her way to the University of Calabat Teaching Hospital. She is an assistant director in the Institution.<br \/>\nConfirming the release exclusively to DAILY POST via phone on Sunday morning, the Chairrman of NMA, Dr Agam Ayuk said, \u201cYes, we can confirm that she has been released, we thank God for her safe release.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cWe thank everybody, we cannot quantify the amount of appreciations for everyone who has contributed whether small or big for her release, we are very appreciative,\u201d he said<br \/>\nOn how much was paid as ransom, the Chairman said \u201cWe cannot discuss that, we don\u2019t have any information regarding the ransom payment but regarding the time of her release, the husband broke the news to us at about 10pm.\u201d<br \/>\nOn the withdrawal of services, he said definitely, the Association had no reason to hold on to withdrawal of services, stressing \u201cWe have began the process of ensuring that it happen as soon as possible.\u201d<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Less than twenty hours after the Chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) Dr Agam Ayuk issued a communiqu\u00e9 on Saturday that the branch will not honour the order of the President, Dr Francis Adebayo Faduyile, the wife of their colleague has been released.
