{"id":191204,"date":"2020-02-05T11:05:31","date_gmt":"2020-02-05T10:05:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=191204"},"modified":"2020-02-05T11:06:33","modified_gmt":"2020-02-05T10:06:33","slug":"another-nigerian-lady-rescued-from-lebanon-by-naptip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=191204","title":{"rendered":"Another Nigerian Lady Rescued From Lebanon By NAPTIP"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><span class=\"ds-1col file file-image file-image-jpeg view-mode-embedded centered clearfix block-story-object block-story-object-resource block-story-object-resource-image\"><br \/>\n<span class=\"block-story-object-asset\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"media-element file-embedded\" typeof=\"foaf:Image\" src=\"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/storage\/2020\/02\/Another-Nigerian-Lady-Rescued-From-Lebanon-By-NAPTIP.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons says it has rescued another Nigerian lady, Mrs Kikelomo Olayide, who was allegedly deceived to Lebanon for employment, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>Lagos State Commander of NAPTIP, Mr Daniel Atokolo, said this at a news conference organised by the agency in Lagos on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>This is coming weeks after Omolola Ajayi, a Kwara-based 23-year-old single mother trafficked to Lebanon on the pretext of becoming an English teacher, was rescued by the government.<\/p>\n<p>Olayide returned to Nigeria at 4:00pm on February 2 and is presently under the agency\u2019s care.<br \/>\n<span class=\"ds-1col block-story-object block-story-object-link block-story-object-link-story\" about=\"\/2020\/01\/16\/ladies-trafficked-lebanon-begs-return-home-after-nigerian-embassy-rejects-them\" typeof=\"sioc:Item foaf:Document\"><br \/>\n<span class=\"block-story-object-content\"><br \/>\n<span class=\"block-story-object-content-body\"><br \/>\n<span class=\"node node-story node-promoted node-sticky taxonomy-sahara-reporters view-mode-embedded_link block-module block-module-small block-module-story\"><br \/>\n<span class=\"block-module-image block-module-image-scale-to-fit\"><span class=\"block-module-image-wrapper\"><span class=\"image-background-wrapper\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" typeof=\"foaf:Image\" src=\"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/storage\/2020\/02\/Another-Nigerian-Lady-Rescued-From-Lebanon-By-NAPTIP.jpeg\" width=\"100\" height=\"100\" alt=\"\"><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The commander said the victim was allegedly trafficked by a 54\u2013year-old Lebanese (name withheld) in October 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Atokolo said, \u201cNAPTIP responded to Olayide\u2019s husband complaints on January 30 when she was apprehended by the Lebanese, who is resident in Lagos.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNAPTIP immediately mandated the suspect to release Olayide in Lebanon to be moved back to Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOlayide is a mother of two and an indigene of Kwara.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Atokolo presenting the fact of the case said that the suspect trafficked the victim under the pretence of employing her as a caregiver to his aged mother in Lebanon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, upon the victim\u2019s arrival at Lebanon, she was received by an agent, who also handed her over to a family, where she was exploited as a domestic servant.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe victim also reported that she was sexually harassed while working for the said family,\u201d the NAPTIP Lagos Commander said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Atokolo, when Olayide\u2019s husband approached the suspect to return his wife, he was threatened.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspect demanded that the victim would only be returned if the victim\u2019s family provides another person to replace her.
