{"id":188708,"date":"2020-01-28T09:46:30","date_gmt":"2020-01-28T08:46:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=188708"},"modified":"2020-01-28T09:46:58","modified_gmt":"2020-01-28T08:46:58","slug":"transfer-guardiola-reacts-as-forward-leaves-man-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=188708","title":{"rendered":"Transfer: Guardiola reacts as forward leaves Man City"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has explained that forward, Ian Carlo Poveda, left the club to join Leed United on a permanent transfer last Friday because he could not offer the 19-year-old more playing time at Etihad.<\/p>\n<p>Poveda made only one senior appearance in his Man City career before he penned a contract with Leed that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Asked why Man City had let Poveda go, Guardiola was quoted by Manchester Evening News as saying after Man City\u2019s FA Cup 4-0 win over Fulham on Sunday: \u201cBecause he\u2019s young, he has to play, he\u2019s not able [to play here] and Leeds is an incredible challenge to be training with one of the best managers in the world in terms of how he helps players to be better players.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the way Leeds play it should suit his qualities perfectly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t speak with Ian but either way it\u2019s a really good decision for him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Guardiola\u2019s men will now take on Manchester United in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg tie on Wednesday.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has explained that forward, Ian Carlo Poveda, left the club to join Leed United on a permanent transfer last Friday because he could not offer the 19-year-old more playing time at Etihad.
