{"id":184434,"date":"2020-01-13T23:53:21","date_gmt":"2020-01-13T22:53:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=184434"},"modified":"2020-01-14T02:51:45","modified_gmt":"2020-01-14T01:51:45","slug":"stanbic-ibtc-staff-in-court-for-alleged-theft-of-banks-money","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=184434","title":{"rendered":"Stanbic IBTC staff in court for alleged theft of bank&#8217;s money"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">A 32-year-old Financial Analyst at Stanbic IBTC, Ifeanyi Otuesieme, on Monday, appeared before a Tinubu Magistrates\u2019 Court in Lagos State for allegedly stealing N230,000 from his employer.<\/p>\n<p>NAN reports that Otuesieme is facing a charge of stealing to which he pleaded not guilty.<\/p>\n<p>The Prosecutor, Insp. Ajaga Agboko, told the court that the defendant committed the offence in December 2019 at a bank on Victoria Island, Lagos.<\/p>\n<p>Agboko said that the defendant, whose job description was to compute commissions paid to the bank\u2019s direct sales agents, inflated the commissions by N230,000.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the offence contravened Section 287 (7) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.<\/p>\n<p>The section stipulates seven years imprisonment for stealing from one\u2019s employer.<\/p>\n<p>The Magistrate, Mr T.A.
