{"id":184033,"date":"2020-01-12T12:34:42","date_gmt":"2020-01-12T11:34:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=184033"},"modified":"2020-01-12T12:35:03","modified_gmt":"2020-01-12T11:35:03","slug":"truck-driver-passenger-die-in-abeokuta-ibadan-road-accident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=184033","title":{"rendered":"Truck driver, passenger die in Abeokuta-Ibadan road accident"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">\n<p>A truck driver and his passenger have been confirmed dead in a fatal accident, on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the accident to AREWA.NG .<\/p>\n<p>According to the FRSC, the crash occurred at about 1817hrs on the Abeokuta-Ibadan road, by Odeda town.<\/p>\n<p>The passengers were reportedly trapped in the crash, killing one of them on the spot.<\/p>\n<p>The second victim was taken to hospital, where he eventually died.<\/p>\n<p>Ogun FRSC Sector Commander, Clement Oladele told AREWA.NG, in Abeokuta that the lone crash involved one truck, with no registration number.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe impact of the crash trapped the victims, and one of them died from the injuries sustained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe corpse was deposited at the Federal Medical Center Abeokuta.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cConcerted efforts were made to rescue the other trapped victim with the aid of extriciating machine and thereafter, taken to the State Hospital, Ijaiye, Abeokuta.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs routine standard practice, in compliance with the WHO 30-day rule, the hospital follow-up on the injured victim found him dead from the crash injuries sustained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspected cause of the truck crash was wrongful overtaking,\u201d Oladele explained.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A truck driver and his passenger have been confirmed dead in a fatal accident, on Saturday.
