{"id":182020,"date":"2020-01-06T14:04:48","date_gmt":"2020-01-06T13:04:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=182020"},"modified":"2020-01-06T14:08:05","modified_gmt":"2020-01-06T13:08:05","slug":"us-vs-iran-china-turkey-sternly-warn-america","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=182020","title":{"rendered":"US vs Iran: China, Turkey sternly warn America"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">The Chinese government has warned America to stop aggravating tensions in the Middle East.<\/p>\n<p>The warning was issued through the Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Geng Shuang,<\/p>\n<p>China further warned America against the abuse of its force and urged all parties to exercise restraint to ensure peace and stability.<\/p>\n<p>Recall that the head of Iran\u2019s elite Quds Force, Qassem Soleimani was killed along with Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis the deputy commander of Iraq\u2019s Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF) on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The death of the army chief resulted to a series of war threats from both America and Iran with the Middle East country\u2019s latest threat to retaliate the assassination of their general.<\/p>\n<p>China\u2019s Spokesman, Shuang said at a daily briefing that \u201cPower politics are neither popular nor sustainable,\u201d according to Al Jazeera.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe US\u2019s risky military behaviour in recent days goes against the basic norms of international relations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe call on the US not to abuse its force, and appeal to relevant parties to exercise restraint to avoid the situation worsening,\u201d he said, adding that China is \u201chighly concerned\u201d about the standoff between Iran and the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Also Turkey has raised the alarm that Soleimani\u2019s killing poses \u201cserious risk for peace in the region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will work with other countries to reduce tensions between the US and Iran,\u201d Turkey\u2019s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told reporters at the Directorate for EU affairs in the capital Ankara.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Chinese government has warned America to stop aggravating tensions in the Middle East.
