Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola personally consoled Manchester United midfielder, Fred, after the Brazilian appeared to suffer racial abuse during his side\u2019s Premier League 2-1 defeat against the Red Devils.<\/p>\n

Fred was stoned with objects, as he stepped up to take a corner kick, with Man United two goals up.<\/p>\n

According to the Manchester Evening News, Guardiola was seen deep in conversation with Fred in the mixed zone after the game.<\/p>\n

The former Bayern Munich and Barcelona coach put his hands on the 26-year-old\u2019s face while speaking to him for 30 seconds.<\/p>\n

The newspaper reports that Guardiola was offering his unconditional support to Fred.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, speaking on the development, Fred told reporters after the match at Etihad: \u201cUnfortunately, we are still in a backward society.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a shame we still have to live with that in 2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately, this is happening in some stadiums. It happened here, it happened in Ukraine with some friends.<\/p>\n
