Anthony Joshua has finally revealed that he was struggling with \u201chealth issues\u201d, on the night he lost his world heavyweight titles to Andy Ruiz Jr.<\/p>\n

Having undergone a secret operation and regained his belts by winning Saturday\u2019s rematch, Joshua told the BBC: \u201cI didn\u2019t know what was wrong with me though I\u2019d been having health issues.<\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t understand why I felt so tired. In the dressing room in New York I was so tired I had to put my head in an ice bucket.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rumours abounded over Joshua\u2019s well-being after he was stopped by Ruiz at Madison Square Garden in one of the biggest upsets in heavyweight boxing history.<\/p>\n

Joshua, who exacted revenge on Ruiz in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night, repeatedly refused to use any excuses for his loss six months ago.<\/p>\n

Comparing his preparation for Saturday night\u2019s fight to that dreaded night in June, the Briton said: \u201cNow I have energy, I haven\u2019t missed a session.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter my check-ups, it showed what the problem was and this is what you have to get sorted.<\/p>\n
