The observation by Mghor stired other lawmakers to kick against Nwankwo\u2019s confirmation, after he said his tax was deducted from source when he served as the Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Community Affiars during Governor Nyesome Wike\u2019s first tenure.<\/p>\n
Ruling on the arguement, Speaker of the Assembly, Ikuinyi Owaji-Igbani asked Sylvanus Nwankwo to provide and submit his tax certificate to the Leader, Martin Amaewhule.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are a responsible Assembly and our role here beyond Lawmaking is also to ensure that we approve for the Governor, those who are worthy in character and truth to serve in the state Executive Council.<\/p>\n
\u201cHaving served before in the Governor\u2019s cabinet as Commissioner we have no doubt that your achievements instigated your re-nomination. However, we believe that the right thing must be done.<\/p>\n
