{"id":169028,"date":"2019-11-19T16:07:28","date_gmt":"2019-11-19T15:07:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=169028"},"modified":"2019-11-19T16:08:56","modified_gmt":"2019-11-19T15:08:56","slug":"23-year-old-man-in-court-for-cultism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=169028","title":{"rendered":"23-year-old man in court for cultism"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Men-in-court-over-alleged-possession-of-human-skull.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">23-year-old man, Aliu Oluwafemi, on Tuesday, appeared in an Ota Chief Magistrate\u2019s Court in Ogun for allegedly belonging to a secret society, Akate Confraternity.<\/p>\n<p>Oluwafemi of no fixed address is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and being a member of a secret cult.<\/p>\n<p>The Prosecutor, Insp. Abdulkareem Mustapha told the court that the defendant and others still at large, committed the offence on Sept. 8, at about 8.30 p.m at Alaska area, Ijako, Ogun.<\/p>\n<p>Mustapha said that the defendant and his accomplices conspired to belong to a secret society called \u201cAkate Confraternity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said that the offence contravened Sections 64(B) and 516(1) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.<\/p>\n<p>The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Magistrate, Mathew Akinyemi, granted the accused bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.<\/p>\n<p>Akinyemi ordered that the sureties must reside within the court\u2019s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with an evidence of tax payment to the Ogun Government.<\/p>\n<p>The chief magistrate adjourned the case until Jan. 6, for further hearing.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>23-year-old man, Aliu Oluwafemi, on Tuesday, appeared in an Ota Chief Magistrate\u2019s Court in Ogun for allegedly belonging to a secret society, Akate Confraternity.
