{"id":167699,"date":"2019-11-14T11:11:10","date_gmt":"2019-11-14T10:11:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=167699"},"modified":"2019-11-14T11:11:27","modified_gmt":"2019-11-14T10:11:27","slug":"nigerian-pastor-arrested-in-kenya","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=167699","title":{"rendered":"Nigerian Pastor arrested in Kenya"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Nigerian-Pastor-arrested-in-Kenya.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">A Nigerian Pastor has been arrested and arraigned by Kenya authorities.<\/p>\n<p>The pastor identified as Joseph Ifeanyichukwu Ezeking, 39, was charged alongside a Kenyan woman Alice Kawira, 35, for engaging in evangelism without a permit.<\/p>\n<p>According to Kenya newspaper \u2018Daily Nation\u2019 the Pastor on diverse dates between January and September 2019 preached without work permit in Embu and Meru counties.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Kawira was charged with harbouring the foreigner at her place while knowing that he was illegally engaging in the evangelism.<\/p>\n<p>Appearing before Isiolo Principal Magistrate Evanson Ngigi on Wednesday, November 13th the duo was also charged with obstructing police officers from arresting them in Meru County.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects, who pleaded not guilty to the charges, were each released on a Sh100, 000 bond.<\/p>\n<p>The case was then adjourned to be heard on January 30, 2020.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Nigerian Pastor has been arrested and arraigned by Kenya authorities.
