{"id":167605,"date":"2019-11-13T21:24:57","date_gmt":"2019-11-13T20:24:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=167605"},"modified":"2019-11-13T21:25:46","modified_gmt":"2019-11-13T20:25:46","slug":"edo-apc-national-leadership-takes-action-on-suspension-of-oshiomhole-obaseki","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=167605","title":{"rendered":"Edo: APC national leadership takes action on suspension of Oshiomhole, Obaseki"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Edo-Youths-call-Oshiomhole-thief-Obaseki-accused-of-sponsoring-thugs.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reacted to the political development in Edo State.<\/p>\n<p>It disclosed that it had set up a committee to look into the face-off.<\/p>\n<p>APC said it was deeply disturbed by the recent turn of events inspite of the various steps the party had taken to find an amicable resolution.<\/p>\n<p>Within the last 24 hours, factions of the state chapter had suspended the National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole and Governor Godwin Obaseki.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on Wednesday, Lanre Issa-Onilu, APC National Publicity Secretary, recalled that leaders such as the Chairman, Nigerian Governors\u2019 Forum (NGF) and Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi; Chairman, Progressives Governors\u2019 Forum (PGF) and Governor of Kebbi State, Abubakar Bagudu, and other eminent party leaders, had all tried at various times to ensure that the issues do not escalate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSadly, these interventions have not yielded the desirable results\u201d, it added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, the immediate concern of the NWC is how to ensure that unity returns to the ranks of the party in Edo State.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn achieving this, we have decided to constitute a high-power fact-finding and reconciliation committee of party leaders to meet with all disputing parties to ensure that all issues are addressed and resolved\u201d.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reacted to the political development in Edo State.
