{"id":166639,"date":"2019-11-09T19:42:52","date_gmt":"2019-11-09T18:42:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=166639"},"modified":"2019-11-09T19:43:27","modified_gmt":"2019-11-09T18:43:27","slug":"eid-el-maulud-senate-president-lawan-felicitates-with-nigerians","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=166639","title":{"rendered":"Eid-el-Maulud: Senate President, Lawan felicitates with Nigerians"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/What-Lawan-said-after-meeting-with-Katsina-Gov.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, urged Muslims and Nigerians in general to imbibe the virtues of peace, tolerance, justice and love for one another as they celebrate this year\u2019s Eid-el-Maulud.<\/p>\n<p>In a goodwill message, Lawan<br \/>\nfelicitated with Muslim faithful on the commemoration of this year\u2019s Eid-el-Maulud and enjoined Muslim faithful to do to each others as exemplified by Prophet Mohammed.<\/p>\n<p>The Senate President said the birthday of the Holy Prophet should be an occasion for renewal of commitment to ideals that will enhance peace and prosperity in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>Lawan also enjoined Muslims to always emulate the virtues of Prophet Muhammad which include honesty, love for others and peaceful co-existence.<\/p>\n<p>He explained, \u201cProphet Muhammad preached and lived for peace and that is the virtue expected of every Muslim, particularly in a diverse society such as ours.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year\u2019s occasion is another opportunity to further thank the Almighty Allah for his continued guidance and intervention in the challenges in our society.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Senate President assured Nigerians that the 9th National Assembly would continue to do its best to make a positive impact in the lives of the citizenry through appropriate legislations.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, urged Muslims and Nigerians in general to imbibe the virtues of peace, tolerance, justice and love for one another as they celebrate this year\u2019s Eid-el-Maulud.
