{"id":158063,"date":"2019-10-06T13:48:45","date_gmt":"2019-10-06T12:48:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=158063"},"modified":"2019-10-06T13:50:17","modified_gmt":"2019-10-06T12:50:17","slug":"bandits-still-strike-despite-amnesty-as-zamfara-government-calls-emergency-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=158063","title":{"rendered":"Bandits Still Strike Despite Amnesty As Zamfara Government Calls Emergency Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><span class=\"ds-1col file file-image file-image-jpeg view-mode-embedded centered clearfix block-story-object block-story-object-resource block-story-object-resource-image\"><br \/>\n<span class=\"block-story-object-asset\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"media-element file-embedded\" typeof=\"foaf:Image\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Hundreds-Flee-Homes-As-Terrorists-Attack-Community-In-Borno.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"container container-pod container-pod-short\"><span class=\"adunit-parent hide block-module block-module-ad block-module-ad-300x250\"><span class=\"block-module-image-wrapper\"><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Zamfara government has summoned an emergency meeting with Fulani<br \/>\nleaders over an attack on an outpost in which nine soldiers were<br \/>\nkilled in Sunke village, Anka local government area.<\/p>\n<p>Senior Special Assistant to Governor Bello Matawalle on Security<br \/>\nMatters, Alhaji Abubakar Dauran, told journalists in Gusau on Saturday<br \/>\nthat the meeting was to forestall future occurrence.<\/p>\n<p>He, however, did not say when the meeting will be held.<\/p>\n<p>The security-post attack is the first major security breach since the<br \/>\ngovernment initiated dialogue with bandits in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Dauran confirmed that Thursday\u2019s attack left some soldiers and<br \/>\nattackers dead, while those injured were admitted to Federal Medical<br \/>\nCenter, Gusau for proper medical attention.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the attackers were from Niger State.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFollowing the good relationship and understanding established with<br \/>\nthe bandits which led to their repentance in Zamfara, I can assure you<br \/>\nthat those attackers are not from Zamfara.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cImmediately after the attack, we reached out to the Fulani leaders in<br \/>\nthe state who confirmed to us that none of their members participated,<br \/>\nbut we have summoned a meeting with them to forestal reoccurrence,\u201d he<br \/>\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>The bandits that attacked the joint security outpost were more than<br \/>\n200 and had come on motorcycles.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Zamfara government has summoned an emergency meeting with Fulani leaders over an attack on an outpost in which nine soldiers were killed in Sunke village, Anka local government area.
