{"id":157125,"date":"2019-10-02T20:59:46","date_gmt":"2019-10-02T19:59:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=157125"},"modified":"2019-10-02T21:01:46","modified_gmt":"2019-10-02T20:01:46","slug":"mainas-son-attempts-to-shoot-dss-operatives-during-fathers-arrest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=157125","title":{"rendered":"Maina&#8217;s son attempts to shoot DSS operatives during father&#8217;s arrest"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><span class=\"ds-1col file file-image file-image-jpeg view-mode-embedded centered clearfix block-story-object block-story-object-resource block-story-object-resource-image\"><br \/>\n<span class=\"block-story-object-asset\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"media-element file-embedded\" typeof=\"foaf:Image\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Buhari-Regime-Ordered-By-Court-To-Publish-Seized-Abdul-Rasheed-Maina\u2019s-Properties.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Department of State Services has accused Faisal Maina, son of former Chairman of Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, of attempting to shoot operatives of the security agency during the arrest of his father.<\/p>\n<p>Spokesperson for the DSS, Peter Afunanya, said Maina was arrested on Monday at a hotel in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cThe arrest which was effected at the Pennsylvania Avenue Hotel, Utako, Abuja, followed a request by the EFCC to the Service to assist in the apprehension of the suspect.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaina was arrested in company with his 20-year-old son, Faisal, who unsuccessfully tried to resist the arrest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe lad even pulled a pistol against the security agents involved in the operation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was, however, disarmed and arrested. He is a final year student at the Canadian University of Dubai where he is studying Telecoms Engineering.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cItems recovered from the suspects include a pistol with live ammunition, a bullet-proof Range Rover SUV, a BMW car, foreign currencies, a phantom 7 drone and sensitive documents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspects and the recovered items will be handed over to the EFCC for further investigations and appropriate necessary actions.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of State Services has accused Faisal Maina, son of former Chairman of Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, of attempting to shoot operatives of the security agency during the arrest of his father.
