{"id":155489,"date":"2019-09-26T18:53:57","date_gmt":"2019-09-26T17:53:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=155489"},"modified":"2019-09-26T18:55:57","modified_gmt":"2019-09-26T17:55:57","slug":"okorocha-speaks-on-his-aides-hiding-to-evade-efcc-arrest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=155489","title":{"rendered":"Okorocha speaks on his aides &#8216;hiding&#8217; to evade EFCC arrest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/How-Imo-lawmakers-made-mockery-of-governance-Okorocha.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has denied reports claiming that some of his aides had gone into hiding to evade arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).<\/p>\n<p>Reports had it that aides of the former governor-turned-senator had disappeared from the state ostensibly to avoid being arrested by personnel of the anti-corruption agency.<\/p>\n<p>But Okorocha, in a statement issued by his media aide, Mr Sam Onwuemeodo, described the report as \u201ctotally false\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe report claiming that my aides have gone into hiding did not mention any of my aides alleged to have gone into hiding.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe report has no iota of truth because no name was mentioned. In the whole story, the reporter could not mention any of the aides or the EFCC officials who came to Imo, to arrest them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe report did not mention the offence which my aides committed, that made EFCC to come to Imo,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n<p>He accused the purveyors of the report of mischief, and described the attitude as \u201csad and tragic\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEFCC does not need to come to Imo for any of my aides; all the agency needs to do is to send an invitation and it will be honoured,\u201d the statement said.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has denied reports claiming that some of his aides had gone into hiding to evade arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
