{"id":155487,"date":"2019-09-26T18:55:44","date_gmt":"2019-09-26T17:55:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=155487"},"modified":"2019-09-26T18:57:23","modified_gmt":"2019-09-26T17:57:23","slug":"how-gunmen-killed-driver-passengers-including-police-officer-on-lokoja-abuja-road-eyewitness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=155487","title":{"rendered":"How Gunmen Killed Driver, Passengers Including Police Officer On Lokoja-Abuja Road -Eyewitness"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><span class=\"ds-1col file file-image file-image-jpeg view-mode-embedded centered clearfix block-story-object block-story-object-resource block-story-object-resource-image\"><br \/>\n<span class=\"block-story-object-asset\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"media-element file-embedded\" typeof=\"foaf:Image\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/How-Gunmen-Killed-Driver-Passengers-Including-Police-Officer-On-Lokoja-Abuja-Road-Eyewitness.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"container container-pod container-pod-short\"><span class=\"adunit-parent hide block-module block-module-ad block-module-ad-300x250\"><span class=\"block-module-image-wrapper\"><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Some gunmen have killed a commercial driver and his passengers<br \/>\nincluding an assistant superintendent of police travelling along<br \/>\nKotonkarfe area of Kogi State on the Lokoja-Abuja highway.<\/p>\n<p>According to an eyewitness, the assailants suspected to kidnappers<br \/>\nopened fire on a vehicle, Sharon car, heading for Abuja from Port<br \/>\nHarcourt, killing all passengers on board.<\/p>\n<p>The witness, who escaped by the whiskers, told journalists on<br \/>\nWednesday that the incident occurred at 5.58 pm on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>He said the Sharon car coming from Port Harcourt on sighting the<br \/>\ngunmen dressed in military camouflage, the driver tried to escape but<br \/>\nwas shot, the vehicle&#8217;s tyres were fired at leading it to somersault<br \/>\nand killing all its occupants.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt that point, we figured that they might be kidnappers and our<br \/>\ndriver then engaged the reverse gear and they started firing at our<br \/>\ncar (too).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe driver was hit in the shoulder by a bullet. A man at the back<br \/>\nseat was also hit in the head\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, they managed to drive to the Gegu-Beki police<br \/>\nstation where policemen assisted in conveying them to the General<br \/>\nHospital at Kotonkarfe and later on to the Federal Medical Centre,<br \/>\nLokoja.<\/p>\n<p>He said their driver who was hit by a bullet was referred to National<br \/>\nHospital, Abuja, while those who sustained bullet wounds were referred<br \/>\nto the University College Hospital, Ibadan.<\/p>\n<p>The state\u2019s police commissioner, Hakeem Busari, confirmed the incident.<\/p>\n<p>He said he got a report that a car stopped by kidnappers dressed in<br \/>\ncamouflage was shot at which made it to summersault killing all<br \/>\noccupants including an Assistant Superintendent of Police from Edo<br \/>\nState.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some gunmen have killed a commercial driver and his passengers including an assistant superintendent of police travelling along Kotonkarfe area of Kogi State on the Lokoja-Abuja highway.
