{"id":148955,"date":"2019-09-03T13:15:50","date_gmt":"2019-09-03T12:15:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=148955"},"modified":"2019-09-03T13:20:11","modified_gmt":"2019-09-03T12:20:11","slug":"police-confirms-abduction-of-ex-lawmaker-in-enugu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=148955","title":{"rendered":"Police confirms abduction of ex-lawmaker in Enugu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Anambra-Rivers-get-new-Police-Commissioners.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">The Police Command in Enugu State on Tuesday confirmed the abduction of a former member of Enugu State House of Assembly, Mr Ude Okoye by unknown masked men.<\/p>\n<p>According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) the former lawmaker was kidnapped on Monday evening at about 7 p.m. while returning from his farm in Agbogugu community in Awgu Local Government Area of the state.<\/p>\n<p>The Command\u2019s Public Relations Officer, SP Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed the abduction to newsmen in Enugu, said that the masked men are being trailed and a positive result was being expected from the operation.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cWe are on the trail of his abductors who allegedly kidnapped him from his farm axis in Agbogugu community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Amaraizu equally said that those that abducted the lawmakers might have known him as they masked themselves in order to hide their identity.<\/p>\n<p>NAN recalls that Okoye was also a former National Youth Leader of the People\u2019s Democratic Party (PDP).<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Police Command in Enugu State on Tuesday confirmed the abduction of a former member of Enugu State House of Assembly, Mr Ude Okoye by unknown masked men.
